For German-born musician and artist Mikel, music is a way to revisit the worlds we grew up with and carry them into adult life. Based now in Sydney, he is best known for his & Chill albums, where iconic video game and film soundtracks are reimagined through warm, lofi beats. His debut, Zelda & Chill, struck a chord worldwide and has since been streamed more than 250 million times.

Mikel started making beats in 2008 when he was just 14. What began as late-night experiments at home grew into a distinct sound fans describe as emotional, nostalgic, and refreshingly new. His covers are never just copies. They transform familiar themes into music that helps people study, relax, or simply feel a little more at ease in their day. For many, his annual releases have become yearly milestones, tied to memories of growing up, moving cities, or even raising families.
